The best part of the scene was when he told Ponyboy to stay gold; that part was the most convincing, since it looked exchangeable he was actually dying and because of the way he verbalize it. taken as a whole, Johnnys character was depicted excellently, though Matt Dillion was definitely the top heel of this film. Matt Dillion did an outstanding job at playing the role of Dally. In the scene that Johnny died, Matt Dillions body language and emotions matched the description of the book very well; he looked very distraught and depressed.
